While most rock bands are all too focused on the riff, the Sheepdogs remember the importance of those other elements that make for great rock music: melody, harmony and groove. To see them live is pure rock and roll jubilation, to revel in the splendour created by 3 part vocal harmonies and heavy hitting dual guitar leads. Their latest album, “Learn & Burn”, is a beautiful blend of power and imagination, ranging from ferocious rockers to southern boogie and grooving psychedelia. Big guitars, stacked harmonies, vintage organ and piano skillfully colour each of the album’s 15 tracks, proving that these boys are as dedicated to the craft of songwriting and album making as they are to playing a dynamite live show. The Sheepdogs are an old-school rock and roll revival.

After securing the reputation as the most exciting band to see in their hometown of Saskatoon (and being voted favourite local band by the readers of Planet S magazine), The Sheepdogs have taken their show on the road, touring from coast to coast in Canada and down into the US. They have opened for Matt Mays, the Arkells and Tricky Woo, and have played at POP Montreal, NXNE, Junofest, the Western Canadian Music Awards, and Canadian Music Week. They have independently released three full-length albums, all of which have charted on Earshot’s national monthly top 200 chart, with 2010′s “Learn & Burn” reaching as high as #21. In the summer of 2009, their album “The Sheepdogs’ Big Stand” was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award for Independent Album of the Year, and the band was nominated for Artist of the Year on XM radio’s The Verge. With no intentions of letting up, 2011 sees The Sheepdogs touring across North America spreading the good word while continuing to write and record in their home studio.

CANADIAN POP-ROCKERS STEREOS ANNOUNCE TOUR IN SUPPORT OF SOPHOMORE RELEASE UNCONTROLLABLE
Toronto, ON – Edmonton natives Stereos announce their 2011 headlining Canadian tour in support of their recently released sophomore album, Uncontrollable (Universal Music Canada). Kicking off the tour in North Bay, ON on March 24, 2011 with stops in Edmonton, Victoria and Winnipeg, the JUNO Award-nominated band has prepared a thrilling live show that combines their pop-rock mentality and newly explored electro-club sound.

“Our favourite part of being in a band is to take our music on the road and play for people in as many places as possible,” says lead singer Pat Kordyback. “The club vibe on our new album will make for an upbeat show that we cannot wait to perform. We’re so excited to tour with the other bands and are confident it will be our best experience in Canada yet.”

With the release of their second studio album, band mates Pat Kordyback (Lead Vocals), Miles Holmwood (Lead Guitar / Vocals), Daniel Johnson (Bass Guitar), Robb Chalifoux (Rhythm Guitar) and Aaron Verdonk (Drums) show their growth and confidence as a group by continuing to make music that incorporates several genres – pop, electronic and rock. The first single, Uncontrollable and new single Body Move, maintain the band’s signature catchy lyrics and beats, while driving heavier bass lines and added synths for an overall pop-infused dance sound.

After receiving approval on MuchMusic’s disBAND and being signed to Universal Music Canada, Stereos released their self-titled debut album in October 2009. The first single, Summer Girl debuted at #2 on the Canadian Hot 100, selling over 120,000 units as a digital single. Stereos was certified gold in album sales by the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) and received two JUNO Award nominations in March 2010 for Best New Artist and Best Pop Album.

Having previously toured with Hedley and Fefe Dobson in 2010, Stereos are set to headline their Canadian tour with support on select dates from newcomers, Neverest. Tickets go on sale February 18, 2011. The tour will give audiences a first chance to hear Uncontrollable live and sing-a-long to fan favourites from the debut album that put Stereos on the road to success.

PROTEST THE HERO ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF SCURRILOUS
WORLD TOUR TO FOLLOW

Protest the Hero will release their 3rd studio album, Scurrilous, on March 22nd on
Universal Records in Canada. Scurrilous is the follow up to the 5 piece band’s,
Number 1 debuting 2008 sophomore release, Fortress, and reunites the band with
producer Julius “Juice” Butty.
Protest the Hero will begin the World Tour with dates in Europe and the UK
from January 26th through February 12th supporting Darkest Hour. Following
an appearance at Australia’s 2011 Soundwave Festival, the band will begin an
extensive Canadian and U.S tour March 23rd will support acts Maylene and the Sons
of Disaster and Tessaract. The Canadian leg of the tour will be sponsored by D-Tox
Clothing.
